YOU CAN DO IT

Christians become discouraged with
themselves from time to time. This is
normal. What we must not do is allow
these discouraging times to keep us from going to heaven (Philippians 3:12-14). Christians will not be perfect (1 John 1:8-10). Though imperfect we
can be saved. You can do it! You can go to heaven! Let me tell you why you can do it. You can make it to heaven because:
I. The blood of Christ cleanses
those who are walking in the light (1
John 1:7).
2. God is faithful and just to
forgive us of our sins when we confess them to Him (1 John 1:9).
3. God will forgive you when you
repent and pray to Him (Acts 8:22).
4. We can come boldly before the
throne of grace when we pray in order to receive mercy (Hebrews 4:14-16).
5. God will not allow you to be
tempted above what you are able to bear (1
Corinthians 10:13).
6. God is on your side (Romans 8:31).
7. Christ Jesus loves you (Romans 8:35).
8. God forgave David when he
confessed to adultery and murder (2 Samuel 12:13).
Christians can fall from grace (Galatians 5:4). Christians can go back into the world and be
lost (2 Peter 2:20-22).
However, we must remember there is no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We must remember that grace is in Christ
Jesus (2 Timothy 2:1). Sinning and asking God to forgive you of that
sin does not constitute falling from grace.
Rather that constitutes walking in the light and as you continue to walk
in the light the blood of Christ continues to wash your sins away (I John 7-10).
Turn your back on the Lord and you
will be lost (Hebrews 10:26-39).
Give up on God and you have no hope.
Give up on yourself and you are doomed to fail. Don’t cast away your confidence in Christ and
don’t give up before your life is over (Hebrews
10:35, 36).
Endure temptation (James 1:12), resist temptation (James 4:7), make it a habit to choose
the right course of action (1 John 3:6-9),
dedicate your lives to God as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1, 2), but don’t beat yourself up when you fail. Don’t give up on yourself when you sin. It isn’t always easy and you won’t always be
perfect, but if you are walking in the light you will make it. You can do it! You can go to heaven!
