MURDER!

When Eve gave birth to Cain she said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord (Genesis 4:1).” She must have felt great joy at the arrival of her first born son. However, she must have felt unspeakable pain when years later that same son murdered his brother (Genesis 4:8).

God hates the sin of murder (Proverbs 6:17). He commanded the Jews not to murder (Exodus 20:13). He listed murder as a work of the flesh that will prevent one from inheriting the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). He also said, “no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:15).”

While God authorizes just warfare and capital punishment He does not tolerate the taking of innocent blood (Romans 13:4). Governments have a right and responsibility to inflict punishment upon those who choose to murder (Romans 13:1-7). However, individuals are not authorized by God to seek vengeance upon murderers (Hebrews 10:30).

Abortion is the murder of the most helpless and innocent of people. It is the slaughter of unborn children. Governments should punish those who participate in this form of murder. However, individuals must never take matters into their own hands and personally seek to punish the abortionists! Vengeance belongs to God. Justice will be served.
