LEADERSHIP

by Kevin Rutherford

God has given man the leadership in the home (Ephesians 5:23).  God has given the man the leadership in the church (1 Timothy 3:1, 2).  God has given the man the leadership in worship (1 Timothy 2:8).  The leadership roles given to men are not subject to change with the culture.  The two reasons God gives for male leadership remain true, no matter what the culture may say (1 Timothy 2:13-15).

Male leadership does not make the man more important in the home or church than the woman (1 Corinthians 11:3).  The Father has authority over the Son, and yet the Son is no less important.  They simply have different roles.  The woman is no less important than the man (Galatians 3:26-29) God designed each for a specific role.  The man’s role is that of leadership and the woman’s role is that of support for the man (Genesis 2:18).

Female elders, deacons, or evangelists are not a part of God’s plan. Those churches which engage in such practices have condemned themselves by their own stubborn refusal to do things God’s way.  God will not hold them g uiltless.
